The Canon EF-S 60 mm f/2.8 Macro USM is a compact lens for DSLR cameras with APS-C format sensors that shoots at 1:1 scale and is suitable for macro photography and other genres such as portraits. The minimum focusing distance is 20cm. The lens fully supports the E-TTL II exposure metering system, which analyses the focus distance data transmitted by the lens. The EMD electromagnetic diaphragm allows for beautiful blurring of background objects, visually separating the subject from the background, as well as convenient control of depth of field. The optical scheme of the lens includes 12 elements in 8 groups. Lenses are made with multi-layer Super Spectra, which is responsible for reducing flare and reflection.

The lens is equipped with an ultrasonic ring drive USM, which ensures the accuracy and speed of focusing with almost complete silence of this process. If necessary, the photographer can manually ‘bring’ the automatically set sharpness by simply turning the focusing ring without leaving the AF mode. Thanks to the internal focusing system, the physical dimensions of the lens remain unchanged during the sharpening process, which increases the convenience of working with the lens.
