Advantages:
+ of course the main plus is the signature bokeh - huge swirling circles, or rather even rings;
+ 85mm is the ideal combination for large portraits, if we talk about full frame, of course;
+ f1.5 - aperture!
+ powerful metal construction that will last forever and looks great;
+ unique, delicious color rendition
+ razor sharpness when the aperture is closed and soft blur when open, with minimal distortion.
Difficulties:
- at an open aperture it is sharp only in the central third of the frame, but actually this is not a minus for a portrait photographer of this kind;
- it’s hard to get into focus, the depth of field is probably only 2-3 centimeters, don’t rely on the chip to confirm focus, you still need to focus on the screen, zooming in on the image (it’s long, but accurate, and worth it)
- catches “bunnies” very strongly, you need to cover the sun with your hand/shade, although sometimes hares are only a plus
